Dudy was such a great guide and I really enjoyed my time exploring with him. I was feeling a bit sick and I felt supported and taken care of.

Our driver/guide for the day was Ma-de, a very knowledgeable and friendly guy who made the day extra special in so many ways. Our day started with an 08:00 pick up from the hotel to beat the crowds at the 3 waterfalls we were booked to visit. Each waterfall had it’s own charm and natural beauty and Ma-de knew just where and how to take the perfect photo &/or video, giving us the perfect reminders of our day. Whilst travelling between the waterfalls Ma-de was full of interesting and informative information about the local traditions and family life of the villages, towns and countryside we passed through. We even stopped and had lunch at a family run warung and as he knew the family well we were shown round their family compound and saw how the suckling pig we ate was prepared, as well as the family’s private temples and living quarters. We had extended our tour to include a visit to a rice terrace and a Bali swing and as an added bonus we also stopped at a coffee plantation. Again each was special in their own unique way, although the swing was a little daunting at first sight if I’m honest. We arrived back at our hotel some nine and a half hours after being picked up after experiencing a truly memorable day that will live long in our memories.

We had the most perfect day exploring with our host Lewer. The day began quite early, giving us a great head start on all the locations. The first place we visited was the waterfall, the timing was perfect as there was hardly anyone around, and we got the opportunity to take photos and enjoy the scenery without having to queue or avoid other people. We then went to Batuan Temple where Lewer gave us some insight into the history and culture of Bali. Then we headed to the monkey jungle, this was a lot of fun as we got to explore at our own pace and see the families of the long tailed Balinese macaques. We finished the morning off with a wonderful lunch at D’Alas Wurung which overlooked the jungle before heading over to the rice terraces and finished up with a trip to the local crafts market. We had an incredible day with Lewer and had such a wonderful experience and will be recommending him to our friends and family. Would definitely recommend the early start as we had a packed full day and enjoyed every part of it.
