Once in a lifetime experience.

Goodness me where do I begin. My wife and I are celebrating our honeymoon in Bali and this was our very first excursion. We set off at 9am and got back to our hotel for about 5:30pm. We started off by visiting one of the many temples in Bali/Ubud where our tour guide Manik gave us all of the history of the religion and meaning behind many things, we learnt a lot and he took great photos - win win! We next went to the Monkey Forest, crazy experience for a couple of Londoners ????. The monkeys are wild and free, we’re in their space in fact. Was surreal being so up close and personal with them. One was afraid of me and one tried to intmidate me, it was semi-frightening but looking back at it, it only added to the experience (my favourite part of the day tbh!) Next up was the rice terrace where we had the privilege of roaming around the fields and learning all about how rice is made. They had a swing and zip line there - my wife loved that especially. We then went to a coffee distillery where we learnt all about the local coffee delicacies like Luwak Coffee and why it’s called that (I’ll leave that discovery to you). They gave us loads of free samples and we bought some too. It was awesome. To end the day we went to the waterfall where there was the small challenge of taking the 165 stairs to get down there, it goes very quickly in all honestly and it’s definitely worth it. We recommend bringing some slippers, towel and a change of clothes if you want to get into the water. It’s really scenic and you can get super close to the waterfall. Going back up we took the lift from the nearby beach club, just buy a drink and they’ll let you do that. Even though the monkey forest was my favourite part of the day, our tour guide/driver/new mate Manik was really the main attraction. He was simply fantastic. He was patient, caring and just genuinely a wonderful human being. The only thing I could fault him for was being a Man Utd fan ???? top top man and top trip. It’ll be hard to top this while we’re here I’m sure.
